Week 4: Last Hour of Internet

We weren’t provided with a topic for our process post this week so I will just talk about an interesting question that was posed in our class: What would you do with your last hour of Internet?

First of all, I can’t even begin to imagine what life would be like without the Internet. We are so reliant on the Internet throughout our daily life whether it be for work, playing games, or connecting with friends and family members. Without the Internet, I would probably lose my job (since I work remotely) and ability to finish my degree. Life would be so different, and I would imagine very boring at least for the first little while. If this question was posed twenty years ago, I would definitely think it is feasible. That being said, if I had one last hour of Internet, I would definitely head on social media and request phone numbers of my family and friends that are overseas so I can still communicate with them. I rely a lot on Google Maps so I will also need to download maps to navigate unfamiliar parts of town. Many of my classmates said they would download their favourite songs so they can still listen to them. For me, my music taste changes so frequently, I don’t think there is much use for me to download music. As long as the radio still works, I will be fine. Other than that, I do not think there is much else I would do. I will just have to get ready for the new reality of life without the Internet.

What do you think? What would you do with your last hour of Internet?
